DATING and ME!!! YIPEE!!! I HAD TWO DATES WITH A GIRL!!!
This is what the world and yes, Sean, really wanted to know.. me and my two dates with Joan.
Preface: Joan is a young lady that I met at Pageant this summer, see some good does come from pageant each year. She is 28. born nine days before me... and cute... I met her at one of the move in days for the show. She also, like me, doesn't care for certain people associated with show and therefore could no longer be on technical staff for the show. I was a little sad about that but she re-appeared when the show started deciding to sing in the balcony chorus of our little performances. Each evening before the show would start I would open the doors on the side of the building and let the balcony chorus up the outside of the building so that they could get in their places for performances. Well, each night Joan would be one of the first ones out the doors and either give me a hug or blow a "kiss" for my cheek from her to me or something like that. I knew that she was a FRIEND ONLY!!! Let me reiterate that statement... FRIENDS ONLY!!!
Current Story Line!: Well during the performances my best friend Sean came home to CA to see the show and me and his dad and friends... one of the performances, I saw Joan and wanted them to meet. Well I came to find out that they already knew each other from years ago with the show. So, they got re-aquainted, and we decided after the first Sat. night performance to go get food with some friends. Off we went.. Sean, Joan and I in one car, and my friends in the other car. After deciding that one of the places was too full, we decided to go up to Pleasant Hill and eat. On the way to the first locale... my phone rang and I handed the phone to Joan and told her to answer it because I was trying to drive and keep up with my friends. She first answered it hello, and then said that this was John's new girlfriend..cause I assume that the person calling asked who this was, answering my phone because if a girl answers my phone then.. there is something definitely wrong here. Well, I kind of freaked, not in a really bad way, just a little nervous...when she said that she was my new girl friend because that doesn't happen to me...
believe me it doesn't. So off we went to dinner and Sean and I took her back to her car at the ISC and the show continued and Sean went home to Idaho and life went on.
Closing of the show: Still current story line. The show ended like it ususally does, and I had Joan sign my program because I wanted to keep in touch with her and get to know her. I will state that I just want to be FRIENDS with her.. nothing more because I don't need the hurt at the moment. She gave me her phone number and said to call her. I figured that I would one day and we would talk and that was that.
Well, the first date ended up being a lunch date... because I was working in Napa with my company and I kept thinking that I ought to call Joan since I was in the neighborhood, and see if she wanted to meet up and hang for a few minutes. Well, I called and she answered and I told her that I was in Napa with work and was wondering if she would like to go to lunch with me and visit... she said a resounding YES, and asked where I was and I told her and she said that she would meet at Baker's Square and would love to have lunch with me!! Yipee... I had a lunch "date" with my friend Joan.
We met and decided to go to Applebee's and eat there and then she had to get some balloons for her nephew's birthday or maybe her niece's ... can't remember.. so we ate and we talked and I told her that I wanted to go see the show a Chorus Line in San Francisco and what I was going to do and why... I figured that over the last three months I had worked my tail off with the show and work and that I needed to take care of me... for a little while. While I was talking with her, I thought that I would ask her if she wanted to come along, her eyes were lighting up like mine do, when I talk about the theater and shows that I want to see and ones I have seen. I talked about what I wanted to do, so I thought that it would be fun to have a friend go with me.
Basically what I told her was that I wanted to have a ME afternoon and dress up nice and go into the city on BART and eat at a nice restaurant, have people wait on me and then go to the show and RELAX!!! That was a biggie... RELAX!!! She thought that it would be a blast to do all of those things so she said that she would love to go... DATE #2!!!
